At 64’ and offering a unique mix of classic yachting heritage and high powered performance, CRUSADE is one of the largest, and certainly one of the most beautiful sailing yachts available for crewed charter on the Solent.
Commissioned by the newspaper baron Sir Max Aitken, CRUSADE was designed by Alan Gurney and built in cold-moulded wood, in 1969, at Souters’ yard in Cowes on the Isle of Wight. She was immediately shipped out to Australia where she won line honours in the 1969 Sydney-Hobart Yacht Race. On returning to the UK, she was a renowned Admiral’s Cup racer.
Following major refits in 2022 and 2011, CRUSADE continues to race (and win) in numerous classic regattas – never failing to turn heads wherever she goes.
