The 2025 sailing season is well and truly underway. The last week of May saw CRUSADE out on the water practicing drills with our Fastnet charter team before we set off on the iconic Myth of Malham Race.

First held in 1958, the Myth of Malham Race has built a rich legacy for more than six decades of offshore racing. This year’s race brought together the largest fleet seen in RORC racing since the record-setting 2023 Rolex Fastnet Race. A total of 140 yachts carrying over 900 sailors from 28 nations lined up for the 235-nautical mile offshore challenge. The course mirrors the initial leg of the Rolex Fastnet Race, challenging sailors with complex tidal gates and headlands such as Anvil Point, St. Alban’s Head, Portland Bill, and Start Point.
With modest hopes that we would complete what the forecast promised was going to be a gruelling race. Imagine our delight at being the
10th yacht to finish in a fleet of 140
1st classic yacht home
3rd out of 21 in IRC class 2
and an amazing 13th out of 129 in IRC overall

The Myth of Malham race was a fantastic re-acquaintance with offshore racing for the 56 year old CRUSADE and proof, if ever any was needed, that she is the perfect yacht for teams looking for a fast, strong, safe and comfortable yacht for RORC racing.

Our focus on the 2025 Fastnet by no means takes up our whole year and CRUSADE is once again available for day charters on the Solent, and for clients looking to venture further afield, we will also be offering a limited number of cruises to the West Country, Channel Islands, France, etc.. These will be on a first come, first served basis with dates being dependent on client’s wishes. June is THE month for a cruise on CRUSADE as we have no RORC commitments and the weather should be just perfect for an extended cruise on this beautiful, fast, safe and comfortable classic yacht.
Get in touch now and let’s discuss what you would like to do on CRUSADE in 2025/26.
